Flying Squirrels Photography LLC is a commercial drone aerial photography and videography company based in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Owner Tim Lowenwirth Jr. founded the company in 2026 after 25 years as a New Jersey public school educator, and runs it full time as its sole operator.
The company produces aerial and FPV imagery for events and festivals, brand campaigns, real estate and hospitality, construction progression, roof and exterior documentation, houses of worship, and golf courses, farms, and vineyards. FPV work is a particular strength: continuous, uncut takes that move through a doorway, down a hallway, and out over a roofline.
Clients and events include TEDxJersey City, Undiscovered Realm Comic Con, the Uptown Sounds Summer Stage and Music Festival in Montclair, the East Side Mags Zombie Walk, NJ Card Market, the Montclair Bike Bus, Eve Ultra Lounge in Staten Island, Durkan Fencing, Mister Jones in Little Falls, and construction progression across northern New Jersey. Aerial imagery has been featured in the Dallas Express and Daily Hive. While teaching in the Union City Public School system, Tim provided drone photography and video for Union Hill Middle School's commencement ceremonies two years running; the district used the footage.
Tim holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for United States operations and EASA A1/A3 and A2 certification under Netherlands operator registration for European operations, with aerial work captured in Ireland and Italy. The company carries $1M aviation liability coverage through SkyWatch.AI and handles LAANC authorization, permitting, and certificates of insurance for every engagement. The fleet is entirely DJI and includes aircraft meeting FAA Category 1 requirements, permitting lawful flight over crowds without a waiver.
Flying Squirrels Photography is a single-operator business: the person who answers the phone is the person who flies the aircraft, edits the footage, and delivers the files.
