Nearly 3 billion pounds of food goes to waste each year in New Jersey; meanwhile, close to 1.1 million of our neighbors – including over 270,000 children – don’t have enough to eat. As New Jersey’s first and largest food rescue nonprofit, Table to Table bridges the gap between food waste and food insecurity throughout northern New Jersey. With our fleet of refrigerated trucks, and 400+ ‘Food Rescue Hero’ volunteers, we pick up surplus fresh food from farms, distributors and importers, supermarkets, restaurants, caterers, schools and more – and deliver it directly, for free, to a network of 300+ pantries, community kitchens, shelters, senior centers, day care centers, and veterans programs. Each year we rescue and deliver enough food for over 20,000,000 meals, turning surplus into sustenance for thousands of our NJ neighbors.
