Hop the Chamber's Chartered Amtrak Train to the Nation's Capital
January 31 - February 1, 2013
Marriott Wardman Park Hotel • Washington, D.C.
This year the Meadowlands Regional Chamber will team with the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce in its annual Walk to Washington and Congressional Dinner on January 31 and February 1, 2013. The Walk has a rich history of drawing New Jersey's top political and business leaders together to discuss ways to generate economic growth and create jobs in New Jersey.
The Walk to Washington is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 1, 2013. The chartered Amtrak train to the nation's capital will leave from Penn Station in Newark and stop at various stations across New Jersey as well as in Philadelphia and Wilmington for the convenience of guests.
In the evening, after the train arrives in Washington, dinner will be at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel with Governor Chris Christie, state legislators, New Jersey's Congressional delegation and other prominent business and political leaders from the Garden State as part of the annual Congressional Dinner.

Background on event
The Walk to Washington tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation - and the rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when folks realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk up and down the train the whole way to Washington.
Whether on the train, at the dinner, during our famous dessert extravaganza or at the many related events taking place at the Marriott, members' time will be well spent as you build contacts, increase visibility - and expand your business.
With Governor Christie joining us as the keynote speaker this year, demand for tickets will be heavy. I hope you will take this into account as you plan your participation. We appreciate your support, and look forward to seeing you and your members in Washington in January.
